What is The Galley?
The Galley Workstation has quickly become the most used appliance in the kitchen. All meal preparation, cooking, serving, entertaining, and washing can be done using this fully functional Culinary System. By utilizing three tiers, you are able to layer Culinary Tools that slide above and below each other; positioning them in front of you when you need them and placing them underneath other Culinary Tools when not needed. Every task can be accomplished while working within the Workstation, not around it. All Culinary Tools can be kept in the system so they are ready to use when you are! Your kitchen will be ergonomic, efficient, clean, and so much more enjoyable.

Does The Galley work in all kitchens?
The Galley is useful in every size and type of kitchen. The Galley is not a traditional kitchen sink where you lose work space. The Workstation maximizes space with three tiers of functional and ergonomic work space. The vertical, layered Galley system utilizes Cutting Boards, Drying Racks, Colanders, Mixing Bowls, and other tools to actually add work space to your kitchen. Our generously proportioned and thoughtfully engineered Culinary Tools enable you to perform every task inside of The Workstation, containing the mess within the system throughout the process.

Where can I purchase The Galley products?
The Galley products are sold exclusively through our network of Authorized Galley Dealers and Designers. To find an Authorized Dealer or Designer in your area, visit the Showrooms on our website. If there is not a dealer in your area, please call 1-800-375-4255 and we will assist you. The Galley is not sold online and is only available through an Authorized Dealer or Designer.

Where is The Galley made?
How many models and sizes of Galleys are offered?
The GalleyWorkstations product line includes Workstations, WashStations™, Work&WashStations, BarStations®, and HydroStations. You can add one or two DryDocks® to all of these except the HydroStation. There are over 700 possible combinations of models and configurations available. Custom options are also available upon request. Even though there are many options, choosing the right Galley(s) for your home is actually very easy.

What is a DryDock®?
The Galley DryDock® is a 2” deep 12” or 18” extension that you can add to one or both sides of any Galley. It expands the functionality of your Galley Workstation without sacrificing cabinet space and allows you to “dock” your Culinary Tools away from the basin whenever you want.

What is the Galley basin made of?
Every Galley Basin is made from one piece of 316L Marine-grade Stainless Steel. A beautiful, custom Angel Finish is applied to every Basin. The Angel Finish was developed to soften the high reflectivity of standard Stainless Steel finishes and for easier maintenance. The finish resists water spots, hides light marks and scratches and is very easy to clean. The finish is also easily renewable back to a perfect factory finish! What are the Galley Culinary Tools made of?
We offer three different Materials for our Culinary Tools: American Black Walnut, Graphite Wood Composite, Quartered White Oak and High-Density Resin.
3/4″ American Black Walnut – Known for its durability and rich, dark tones, this material offers both elegance and strength. Its dense, non-porous surface resists knife marks and water damage, keeping your prep areas sanitary. Carefully hand-selected and gentle on knives, it features a classic solid wood finish and is simple to maintain with citrine®. Eco-friendly and sustainably sourced, Walnut is a top choice for Culinary Tools.
1/2″ Graphite Wood Composite – This is an eco-friendly and non-porous wood composite material. Certified by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) as safe for food preparation it is also heat resistant up to 350°F and dishwasher safe. Graphite is an excellent choice for indoor or outdoor Workstations.
3/4″ Quartered White Oak – This material combines strength, beauty, and durability. Its dense, non-porous grain resists knife marks and water damage, keeping surfaces sanitary and safe for food preparation. Hand-selected for quality and gentle on knives, it features a traditional solid wood finish and is easy to care for with citrine®. Eco-friendly and sustainable, Quartered White Oak is an ideal choice for Culinary Tools.
5/8″ High Density Resin – Exclusive Gray and Designer White are made of commercial-grade, high-density resin, which is engineered for durability, low maintenance, and safety. The textured surface safely holds food in place without slipping. The resin does not absorb bacteria, splinter, chip, swell, peel, rot, warp, bend, or crack. Our resin is BPA Free and NSF Certified, heat resistant up to 180ºF and dishwasher safe. Both finishes are manufactured with UV stabilizers making them an excellent material for outdoor Workstations.

What’s the best way to incorporate The Galley into my kitchen?
The Ideal Galley Kitchen Layout kitchen includes a 4ft-7ft Workstation in an island or peninsula outward facing with a cooktop on either or both sides. This creates the perfect preparation and cooking zones. We would recommend no more than 2-3 inches between the Workstation cutout and the adjoining cooktop. Locating a WashStation close by, ideally directly behind the Workstation, is incredibly useful. We recommend placing a dishwasher on either or both sides of the Washstation creating an ideal Wash Zone. The Wash Zone is typically on the wall, possibly under the window where the regular kitchen sink has traditionally gone. This is especially helpful to keep dirty pots, pans and dishes out of the primary Workstation when preparing and serving your meal. We refer to this setup as The Galley Lifestyle Kitchen Layout because we believe it offers a better way to prep, cook, serve, entertain, and clean within your kitchen, the heart of the home.

What size cabinet is needed for The Galley?
The cabinet size needed for The Workstation is listed in the model number that you selected. For example, the Ideal Workstation 5 (IWS-5) means that the cabinet dimension should be 5′ or 60″ in width.
Smaller Workstations and WashStations will fit into standard /available cabinets. Larger Workstations and Work and WashStations typically have cabinets that are made for The Galley Workstation.

How do I install the Galley?
Typically, it is installed by your contractor or whomever is installing your cabinetry. The Galley Workstation is installed into the cabinetry with a support or cleat system, (see product Installation Guide), and then the countertop is mounted on top. The Workstation does not get clipped to the countertop like a typical kitchen sink but rather goes into the cabinetry as an undermount sink. Proper installation is imperative for proper support and complete functionality, so we have included installation guides, cut-out dimensions, and countertop templates with every Galley.
Our Customer Service team is available to talk to installers and countertop fabricators anytime. We have a library of tools including videos to assist them with the proper installation of your Workstation.

Is a Strainer Basket or Drain Assembly included?
The Galley Automatic Strainer Basket, Manual Strainer Basket or Garbage Disposal Flange with Basket do not come with the Workstation but can be easily added depending on your application. The Basket knob is produced with our Angel Finish to coordinate perfectly with the Workstation Basin. Every Galley does come with an Elevated Drain Cover standard.

Will a garbage disposal work with The Galley?
Yes. The drain opening is the standard size for US drains. To ensure your disposal fits, check that its connecting flange is compatible with a 3-1/2” drain opening.
We also offer the G4 Food Waste Disposal, designed specifically for Galley Workstations. Compact yet powerful, its 1‑1⁄4 HP, 4000 RPM motor easily grinds tough food scraps while resisting jams. It includes a matching Disposal Flange Strainer Basket in the exclusive Angel Finish for a clean, integrated look.

Can I customize a Galley?
Absolutely. Whatever you can think of, we can probably do! Popular custom requests include apron-front Workstations, increased length (to fit perfectly into an existing cabinet), drop-in or top mount, 9” basin depth, and center drain. We can even do full Stainless Steel Worktops (counter tops)! Have another idea? Try us!

Are there other accessories available besides those that come with The Galley?
Yes, and the list of options available to enhance your Galley experience is always growing! For example, the Dual-tier Condiment Serving Board can turn The Galley into a super efficient preparation station or a wonderful buffet for entertaining. Do you like chopping above the countertop? If so, the 2″ thick Chef’s Block or any of our Upper Deck’s® are for you. If you prefer to soak dishes and hand-wash we also have a Wash Basin that has a removable plug so no need to fill a 7’ Galley Workstation with soapy water, you can pop in this Optional Tool.

How can I prevent scratches in my basin from happening and, if they do, what can be done about it?
Stainless Steel products will always scratch from use, but no need to worry as scratches can be prevented or removed on The Galley. To prevent scratches, we always recommend purchasing a complete Galley Bottom Grate Set. They are made exclusively for Galley Workstations and will protect the bottom of your basin. If scratches do occur, the Galley’s unique Angel Finish is renewable back to factory condition! Do the Galley Basins rust?
Galley Basins are manufactured with passivated 316L marine-grade stainless steel, which makes this material both stain and corrosion-resistant. In the event that the passivated layer is damaged, it is unlikely but possible that rust can be transferred to the surface from another metal. If the Basin is installed outdoors in a salt-water environment and not cleaned frequently, in addition to the protective layer being damaged, rust may appear. Rust transfer is derived from a contaminated metal on the Basin surface or from another metal being in contact with the Basin below the counter.
If surface corrosion (rust) appears, we recommend cleaning the affected area(s) with citrine® stainless steel clean + polish using a microfiber cloth or a non-abrasive sponge. We provide a Limited Lifetime Warranty for the tiered Stainless Steel Basin. See the Warranty for more specific information. The Culinary Tools are not warrantied and are designed to last for many years with the proper care. What is the shipping lead time?
All of our standard Workstations are in stock, so depending on where you live, you should receive yours within seven to ten days of placing your order with your Authorized Galley Dealer or Designer. For custom Workstations, please allow five to six weeks from the time you place your order.

What products are in The Galley Tap line?
The Galley offers three best-in-class, ergonomically designed, and highly engineered Tap models. They include The Galley Tap, a beautiful, functional, and perfectly proportioned kitchen faucet with dimensions that are specifically designed for the Galley Workstation. The BarTap® which is a scaled down version of The Galley Tap designed specifically for our BarStations and smaller Washstations. The Hot & Cold Tap, which pairs perfectly with The Galley Tap or the BarTap for instant hot or cool filtered water (Digital Hot Water Tank included, filter not included). We also have a complete Tap Accessory line, which includes the Soap Dispenser, Deck Switch, Air Gap, and Hole Cover. What is the BarTap®?
The Galley BarTap® was designed to be a slightly smaller companion to our Galley Tap. The BarTap offers the same high level of design, functionality, engineering, and finish. It is perfectly suited for our BarStations but can also be paired with our smaller Workstations and WashStations. This height also allows for placement under cabinets or shelving above any Galley.

What is the Hot & Cold Tap?
The Galley Hot & Cold Tap is the newest addition to the Galley Tap line. Beautiful, symmetrical and engineered with a hot water handle that springs back to the off position when not in use, it comes with a super-high quality Digital Hot Water Tank for your convenience. It should be accompanied with a Galley Water Filtration unit.

What Tap Accessories can I put with the Tap?
The Galley offers you four different Tap accessories. The Ideal Soap Dispenser is a heavy-duty liquid soap dispenser that is as functional as it is stylish. It is easily refilled from the top and its 5 ½” projection and clearance leaves room below for your hands and a sponge while a Culinary Tool is on the upper tier. It also extends well past the upper and lower tiers of the Galley Workstation for ease of use. The Ideal Deck Switch, with its above the countertop design, conveniently and easily operates any disposal. The Ideal Air Gap and Hole Cover are also available.

What does PVD mean?
The PVD process, (Physical Vapor Deposition), vaporizes a solid metal to a plasma of atoms or molecules; the vapor is then deposited in a vacuum chamber as a high-performance coating. Used in the aerospace and biomedical fields, PVD is the hardest and most corrosion-resistant coating to strengthen and protect your Tap for a lifetime. It is more environmentally friendly than traditional coating processes such as electroplating and powder coating.

How many Galley Taps should I purchase for my Galley Workstation?
We recommend one Tap for our IWS 2, 30, 3 and 4 Workstations. These are one person Workstations. We recommend two Taps for our IWS 5, 6 and 7 Workstations which are all two or three person Workstations. Two Taps are ideal for the larger Workstations as they can accommodate multiple cooks working side by side. Each cook having their own water source is ideal!

What does the filter remove?
Using a proprietary fibercarbon block, The Water Filtration System is certified for reduction of lead, chlorine, cysts, particulate class 1 and other contaminants. This system removes microns from 0.5 in size. For an average reduction chart please refer to the Water Filtration System specification page.

How often should the filter be replaced?
The Water Filtration System has a 7900 gallon capacity but the quality of water varies by location. Typically, the filter should be replaced every year but in some cities, every 6 months is best.

The Dresser is available in 12 high gloss painted finishes and 1 high gloss wood finish, Fumed Eucalyptus. Each Dresser is custom built, hand painted and hand buffed to a perfect finish.

Is the Hardware unique to The Galley Dresser?
The Hardware was designed specifically for The Galley Dresser by Doug Durbin. It is available in nine finishes: Classic, Premium and Prestige, including four Doug Durbin Signature finishes. The Dresser Hardware is made of solid brass. Each piece is machined, finished, and hand-burnished to perfection by the finest hardware craftsmen. Each Galley Dresser is signed and badged with its own flush mounted Unlacquered Brass I.D. Plate. The Dresser Hardware is also available for the entire kitchen, the collection includes: Knob, Small Pull, Medium Pull, and Appliance Pull.

What is the lead time for the production of a Galley Dresser?
Each Galley Dresser is hand built and will take approximately 10-12 weeks to produce and ship with white glove delivery to you.
